Tulsa Republican Assembly Endorses Canadian County GOP Manifesto

12/13/2018

Comments

In a unanimous vote of support by the membership, The Tulsa Area Republican Assembly weighed in on the efforts of many other grassroots Republicans, who are rallying to the support of the Canadian County Republican Committee(CCRC).
Last month the Canadian County Republicans issued an open letter to the Oklahoma Legislature. Their letter included a 4-point directive. The substance of the letter is seeking reforms.
The letter from the CCRC made national news when the Washington Post took issue with the audacity of questioning whether public education could be privatized, in the manner that President GH Bush advocated in 1991.

Dec. 11th Meeting: Sen. Joe Newhouse Returns From War

12/7/2018

Comments

Tulsa Republican Assembly is grateful to have Senator Joe Newhouse safely home from a special forces mission in North Africa. He was selected to help lead this effort to deal with the growing ISIS insurgeancy in Niger & other North African nations.
He survived a dangerous mission but some of the men in his unit tragically died in battle.
Last month Joe was able to tell a few of us a little bit of the dangerous mission he was a part of. He confirmed that the Tongo Tongo deaths were from his team.
But Senator Newhouse also plans to speak about his other commission; that of representing his Tulsa County district at the state capitol.
The New York Times published a video and print story on the battle. You can read it at www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/02/17/world/africa/niger-ambush-american-soldiers.html

Sept. Meeting: 5 Decades With Steve Byas

9/9/2018

Comments

On Tuesday, Sept. 18th, The Tulsa Republican Assembly will celebrate the 5 decades of Steve Byas' leadership in Oklahoma's conservative advocacy.

In the 1970s, Steve Byas stepped up when   Oklahoma's conservative movement needed help.
Despite losing a legislative race in a heavily Democrat district, Steve & some other defeated candidates decided that Frosty Troy needed to be responded to.
The young men started a magazine designed to "set Frosty straight".
As a professional educator and community leader, Byas and his associates decided that our legislators were getting a free pass by the commercial media while they inched our conservative state further & further to the left.

Last night's OKRA Endorsing Convention was a huge success for the Republican Assemblies.  Our delegates sifted through 94 Republican primary races in just 70 minutes.
Several candidates and their assigned surrogates did manage to stop by and greet the delegates over dinner.   We decided to do an 'open mic' for about 15 minutes, prior to 'gavelling in'.
We endorsed 62 candidates, all of whom secured between 67% and 100% of the votes in the convention hall.
In eight races there were many appealing candidates to choose from.  Here are the straw poll results.
